Joe, for radio interviews, I'd use the Plextalk PTR2. It doesn't have a
display and speaks every prompt and info hint. It gives an audible
warning, when the lithium ion battery gets flat. And it has a talking
recording level control. The PTR2 isn't as small as the Edirol
recorders, but one can put
Hello to the list,
Firstly an intro since i'm new here though many might know me. My name

I'm very interested to hear about the blind friendlyness of the Edirol

Krister,
There's a great review of the Edirol R1 on www.blindcooltech.com.
Why do you consider the M1, do you use a MAC? The PC version of the M1,
the MZ-RH10 is quite nice too. One can upload stuff with the supplied
SonicStage software, which is a bit tricky but useable with a screen
reader. The
Hi there,
Well, the only reason i wanted an m100 is that it seems to be the most
proffessional one. I was reading the manual for the Mz-rh910 and found
that i could only record in Hi md mode with the recorder itself, if i
wanted recordings to be compatible with standard mds i had to use the

You can find a review on the R1 at:

I hope this helps.

Hi all,
Thanks for the tips about the site. It's a real treasure trove! Way
cool. However after having listened to the review, i got even more
unsure and my new question to the list is, has anyone used the M-Audio
Microtrack 24/96 and how does it compare to an R1? I believe you can get

I was up all night working on something and wanted to undo what I thought
was only going to be the mix process I was learning to use in Sound Forge 8,
when I unwisely and incorrectly hit undo all. Is there any hope of
recovering all the work I zapped as a result of my inexperience?
Sheila Styron,
I solved my own problem. For those who might care, I had recently
installed Total Recorder and its driver was interfering. Fortunately,
Total Recorder has a setting for using the driver only when Total
Recorder is running. That did the trick.

Hi Krister, I am not sure why anyone would go for Minidisc anymore. With the
R-1, I can record in uncompressed wav format right onto a compact flash
card, and then work with that in Sound Forge or Stuio Recorder. Sony has
just pulled all Minidisc products from the Australian market, and I would

Hi list,
Hmmm, can any one remind me how to make mp3 tag studio start processing files
after you have files selected and ready to start the processing? For the life
of me I can't remember the key or combination to get it started.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks.

Hi Jonathan,
You can not edit your files on the unit itself, right? and another
somewhat silly question maybe, how do you know when a flash card is
full? I take it you monitor your recordings with head phones, and in
that case it's no probs, since i take it the sound suddenly disappears,
but do
Sheila! Can you undo, undo-all?

Hi Krister, that's right, you would really use the R-1 for in the field kind
of recording, and do your editing on a PC. For audio quality, this is great
because you don't lose any quality at all. As for a full flash card, I've
not experienced that since I have a 4 GB card which gives me about six h
Hi Krister,
Though I haven't used either of the recorders, I've been hearing some really
good things about the Microtrack recorder, and I know some of the people at
APH are using it a lot.

Hello listers.
I recently purchased a plantronics dsp-500 headset. It uses a u s b
connection and software/firmware for its operation.
By using the software one is suppose to adjust various audio characteristics

Any Plantronics USB headset I have ever used has allowed me to control these
things from the standard Windows Volume control, and I have never needed to
install the software. I've always been able to just plug it in, and Windows
recognised it.

I don't know, but I sure learned all about redoing undo all.
