Hi Krister, that's right, you would really use the R-1 for in the field kind
of recording, and do your editing on a PC. For audio quality, this is great
because you don't lose any quality at all. As for a full flash card, I've
not experienced that since I have a 4 GB card which gives me about six hours
at CD quality, which is more than enough before I can get to a PC and
transfer it over. Of course, you can record in 192 KBPS mp3 and get even
longer still. Whatever you go for, I think a flash-disk based recorder is a
much better bet than MD.

Hi Jonathan,
You can not edit your files on the unit itself, right? and another
somewhat silly question maybe, how do you know when a flash card is
full? I take it you monitor your recordings with head phones, and in
that case it's no probs, since i take it the sound suddenly disappears,
but does the unit give any audible feedback such as a beep or such when
for example the flash card is full or the battery has run out? And as i
understood from the review, you can't really punch in/out of a
recording with the R1, or am i wrong there? Otherwise it seems easy to
use for blind folks, so maybe i'll go for that in the end. /Krister
