Krister, There's a great review of the Edirol R1 on www.blindcooltech.com.
Why do you consider the M1, do you use a MAC? The PC version of the M1, the MZ-RH10 is quite nice too. One can upload stuff with the supplied SonicStage software, which is a bit tricky but useable with a screen reader.
