Eileen, great questions let me try to help clear things up a little. Apple TV really isn’t a set top box replacement like your FIOS box. Apple TV is a box that grabs content from any number of sources (all of which re on the Internet) and puts them together in a package that’s easy to access.

btw, if you have the funds, go over to walmart and pick up a 1.5 TB USB 3.0 external drive. when you bring it home, put it on the system, repartition it into 2 partitions: 1. OS X and 2. Windows NTFS. Then format those partitions. Use dd to backup the entire boot drive to your newly created OS X
