Hello Andrew,
The command you are using to try to select text is the command for selecting
non-contiguous items. The command you want is VO-Return at the beginning and
end of the text you wish to select. You should hear a whooshing sound as you
select the text.
You could also try the usual way
You can't copy text from the Preview Payne as I've tried it in the past as it's

Dear Anne,
Thank yo so much for this. I was under a false impression that the command
vo+return for selecting text in webpages and other applications where the usual
shift+arrow keys don't work was substituted by vo+command+return. That's why I
didn't even try the former.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi there
It may not work in Preview, but I just tested the ability to copy text using
PDf Pen Pro. I couldn't figure out how to select using shift down arrow, but I
did command A and copied to the clipboard. Then I went to TextEdit, and pasted
it into a file. It worked, although I have no idea

Hello,
I'm using Protectmac. It uses the clamxav engine. I use Protectmac because I
love its interface much more than I like the clamxav UI. Protectmac is around
$49 or so a year and it works 100 percent with VO.
They have a 30 day trial.

Hi all,
My Air sometimes takes up to about twenty seconds to wake up. The thing is,
it's random; sometimes it is ready to go immediately, and sometimes there's
this relatively long delay. I have Speakable Items enabled, so the speech

I just bought the UE Boom. In the states it is around $180-$200.
So far I really like it! Great sound & features. The only drawback at this
time, is the Mac app to update the speaker is not accessible. Fingers crossed
that is fixed.

Oh same here. While I have a decent docking station as part of my hifi

In text-Edit, just hold shift while navigating around to select all you
pass; and VO does say so. I did that yesterday, in fact, Shift is one thing
Windows and even DOS borrowed off Mac for selection.
So for once, it came naturally.

Yes, Sophos works mostly well. I don't need it anymore since I last swept my
data with it, but for on-demand scans it's fine.
But yes, generally I don't think AV is needed for Mac. More than anything,
keep your software updated and practice safe computing, and you should be fine.

You don't need to go to the Apple site, just use the VO help menu, VO-h. People
should take a good look at everything in there. It is mentioned in the getting

Hi,
I am hoping to create seperate libraries for my regular music in i tunes and my

Assuming I have the music seperated out into different folders, how do I make

I'd suggest a different approach: tag everything. If you set the genre of your
music, you can then just make a smart playlist and tell it to exclude all
holiday or Christmas music. I'm sure there are other systems, but multiple
libraries seems like it would get difficult to manage. I don't know,

I do tag everything, but I take out the numbers associated with track numbers,

Hello Jenine,
To access the Emoji keyboard in OS X Maverick, when in an edit field, simply
use the Control + Command + Spacebar key combo.
This will bring up the Emoji soft keyboard which looks and behaves just as
it does in iOS.
I only wish it were this simple in Windows 7 (smile).
