Actually, I've done 5.1 channel sound from my Mac. The sound for 5.1 channels
is taken directly from what is normally the ear phone output jack. You'll want
to be aware that when you run 5.1 channel sound out of your Mac, you will lose
VO unless you direct VO to another output; say, a grifin
no problem redirecting vo to a 2 channel usb device (I have one of those). the
only issue is: is that SP/DIF output in 5:1 sound or analog. that does make a
difference as I have a 5:1 capable sound receiver that uses SP/DIF.

That analog out jack can be switched to optical digital, so use an optical
digital cable with the mini plug on the end, or they make adapters from the
optical kind of plug.

The subject says it all. I found a major bug I think with Dropvox and
apps that plays or streams audio where part of the recording isn't
included. So is there an app that not only helps me record my podcasts,
but also allows recording from audio playing or streaming from other
apps?

voiceover in both my user folder and the main library folder in the system.
once that was done and a restart performed, things started working more

To turn off headers go to mail preferences with command comma go to the view
button in the toolbar at top and find display header details. Here there are
several choices and I have it set to none. IF needed in a particular message
you can still show header info with command shift h.

You eject a disk or drive by using command+E After that, if Voice Over doesn't
tell you it's gone; and, usually, it should, you can tell by tabbing or else
using VO+right or left. You'll notice when it's not there anymore.

Highlight the drive you wish to remove, VO will speak it. Then press Command-E
and VO will indicate a message about a selection being replaced. At this
point, you can safely eject the drive you wish to remove.
