I rely heavily on my contacts and I recently got a new Mac and I noticed that
they do not all sink despite on my phone and other Mac they are stored in all
Contacts. I What’s odd is some are there, and some are not. I HAVE CHECKED
ICLOUD IN INTERNET ACCOUNTS AND CONTACTS ARE SINKING. I ALSO
What I ended up doing was after poking around a bit was to use the
Job Title field then changed the label to a custom one for the email
address so I knew who was who.

Phonetic first name/Last name is for when Siri does not correctly interpret
the pronunciation of a name. For example my Daughter goes by G A B I in order
for my siri requests to call / message her to work I put in a phonetic first
name doubling the “b”. I believe however this messes up the alph

So a lot of folks have the opposite problem that you do where they have
contacts coming from Google and iCloud for the same person. Apparently Ventura
has a tool to reduce this duplication.

To clarify, backups are not a method by which various services are synced.
Backups are just what they claim to be, a backup of your device. By far, the
best, and most efficient method of syncing is what both Dave and Brad
mentioned. By syncing various services such as Contacts, Safari
More specifically, you need to go into the Apple ID settings on each device,
and make sure contacts is selected.

Had this problem a few months ago. Everything was set up correctly, iCloud was
being used on both devices, same Apple ID, etc. etc. Finally I had to uncheck
contacts in iCloud on both devices, restart both, and then recheck contacts in

Apple ID's. If you turn off Contacts within iCloud, then you should be able to
maintain just one Apple ID, but the business iPhone would not have it's
