Send it to Apple, especially if its still under warranty. The iMac will probably have a compartment that lets you access the ram; perhaps even the harddrive and the airport card, but without looking at the mac in person, I'm fairly sure that you'd be needing to remove the motherboard or logic board

This is against apples eula, even *if* you have purchased snow leopard. To get the dvd to boot, you'll first have to boot the vm using boot132, wait for some text to appear on the screen, eject the disk, insert snowy, complete the install potentially without voice over and then get audio plus some

You shouldn't notice a difference between those 2 cpu's; I doubt you even need a quad core really. I don't know what configurations the new laptops come in, but perhaps you could use the money you will save by opting for the lower cpu to upgrade your ram if you've opted for less than 4GB? On 24/03
