Ah... just found the command to remove the line/rule:

The only method I can think of is to use Notepad++ to view the

I would guess there is some way of formatting the copied string so
that LyX knows when to swap into and out of math mode. This obviously
happens when one copies and pastes tables within LyX. But I need help
trying to add this to the text string which I generate in Matlab and
paste in LyX. Any ideas?

If I were to go down this route I think I would rather copy
and paste latex code into an ERT which, on restarting LyX, should give me the
tables and correct formats. It would really be nicer if I could simply paste
content into LyX and have the math values recognised. Does anyone else have any
ideas?

I believe all settings are stored in C:\Documents and
Settings\Ken\Application Data\lyx16 for 1.6 so assume an entirely
different set of settings will be stored in a folder for 2.0. Is this

seems to work for a document with text, mathematical equations, and floats
but it does NOT like tables. When the document has a table SWP utilizes 100% of
the CPU and the memory usage climbs continuously.
I'll update this thread if/when I discover more.

documents they have already written and understand and (2) more advertising of
LyX with universities (and perhaps some of their software budget donated to LyX
as users ultimately move away from SWP reducing licensing costs).

isnt worth the time or energy to make LyX documents compatible
with SWP. I honestly think that once one writes a single paper with LyX
they will never go back SWP (but getting them to do that first paper is the
hard bit).

I like the idea of LyX-Lite too. Perhaps one way to deal with the images
problem is for LyX to export a LyX-Lite version with images in jpg/png format to
a sub-directory along with the lyxlite.lyx file. Would this make sharing the
images within a document easier and more light-weight?

that I do not understand what the reference "\\.\pipe\lyxpipe" means and I do
not know where in my filesystem I should look for the lyxpipe. Where might it

That is excellent. It works perfectly! And I love being able to push the
citations from JabRef to LyX now!
Some comments:
(1) The wiki probably needs updating with this information.
(2) In the Additional Features document they write:
