I'm writing a large document, so have a master document with a number of
include files. This all works well, and I normally load the master document
and load the individual files from within it.
Having completed first drafts of some parts of the document, I'm now trying to
use version control.

I was talking about LyX macros. I realize that they are basically a

Depends - are these plain latex macros, or "lyx macros" ?
For latex macros this is trivial. Define them in the preamble! That
works well, because in the multi-document include case, only the
preamble from the master document is used. So the chapter document's
preamble is only used when the cha

Hi
I have a multipart document where I use the Include function to create a Main
document that just has various layout bits in ERT and then the sections.
If I want to only print one section, for proof reading or layout checking etc I

Hi,
I'm trying to write a multipart document and want to use some macros for
math formulae, picture placements and so on. If I define them in the
preamble of the master document, lyx can't find them if I try to use
them in an included document. Of course, I'd like to have them in one

I am preparing a substantial document that consists of multiple lyx
documents embedded into a master document that uses the book class. I
have an appendix that contain a number of documents that utilise the
curriculum vitae document class and which by themselves are fine. Of

Hi,
I've got a master document which "includes" several other files. In the
other files, a number of math-macros are used. I can produce my document by
doing "include macros.lyx" in the master document before the other
includes. If I try to preview a single chapter however, it complains it

Hey all,
I have followed this thread with interest. However, working with the
comment style didn't work right for me. My solution is the following:
in the master.lyx file, I include following in the preample:
\newcommand{\onlyifalone}[1]{}
in all the subsequent chapter files, I include

Well, when I started to write my Ph.D. thesis I though: Be clever, write
one LyX file for each chapter, then combine then with a master document.
This would normally be no problem with LaTeX, and after reading the LyX
manual I did not expect problems with LyX neither.
Now (after finding out this

I am having proplems using figures (.eps files) in multipart documents.
In my thesis, which I am writing using Lyx (version 1.04), I have
created
a master document and a number of Chapters.

Does anybody have experience with that ?

I'm doing my thesis with LyX 1.0.3pre4. I'm using multipart

LyX does not find the figures of the subdocuments (inserted by

Here are the directories tree:
