We currently have two mechanisms to apply a font change.
LFUN layout-character is dispatched from the Layout->character menu item. It
results in a call to Dialogs::showCharacter() which pops up the character
dialog allowing us to manipulate the dialog's local LyXFont instance.

Hi,
despite the latest changes, the "Character" dialog window is still
very small and when you try to close it with window button provided
by the KDE window manager, then LyX exits completely.
Does anybody observe the same problem??

since Friday, the character dialog is that small on my machine that I
cannot even read the first line. Unfortunately, resizing the dialog does
not work such that I have to close it by the KDE menu -> core dump.

qtchar.diff.gz
Hi,
Please find attached a patch that adds the character dialog to the qt2
frontend. (+few little inheritance fixes). Could someone check this out and
apply if ok?
Thanks. Ed.
Edwin, this is beautifully done. Two small points:
In src/lyxfunc.C
case LFUN_FREE:
- Free(owner->view());
- owner->view()->setState();
- owner->showState();
+ owner->view()->owner()->getDialogs()->setUserFreeFont();
Hi,
Could someone review the applied patch. It moves the layout character stuff
to frontends/xforms. It seems to be functional and compiles, but it is not
impossible that I missed something or should do things differently.
Thanks, Ed.
