Yes, I tried. It works perfectly. Hidecmd simply hides the cmd window
that otherwise would open when launching lyx.exe.
I guess you are starting hidecmd in a command window. What you need to
test is creating a desktop shortcut, with commands like 'hidecmd
lyx.exe'.
