I working on a new process for creating .ly files from MIDI. My current
algorithm was able to produce the following, but it seems to fall down
at 4 polyphonic voices.
<<{f,2} \\ {r4 c'4} \\ {r4 g8 f8}>> <<{c,2} \\ {r4 4}>>
I have another algorithm in mind yet to try and would like to have a

Unfortunately our team made the decision that we'll use Sibelius anyway
for the printed book. The reason is that our first book was made with
Sibelius, and we want to continue with the same visual look. I've
understood that it's not possible to easily use other music fonts with
LilyPond, so I'm afr

A mostly non-literate musical friend of mine dropped a bomb in my lap. She found a couple of allegedly musical symbols and wants to know what they are. I've not the foggiest and have not been able to locate anything that reseambles them.
Would you be willing to receive a JPG file and look at two

Hi Werner,
the OTF font mechanism is shaping up nicely. I do have one question
still; we would like to include font metrics in the OTF as
well. Currently, we can hack this in using the character table, but it
would be nice if we could store the metrics directly in the
appropriate fields. Right no
