Hi Dan,
I'm talking about the top two holes in the engine case. Neither my Diehl case
nor the engine case has threads there. Do you have a Type 1 (and would there be
any difference with a Type 4 anyway)?
Rick
If you are saying that one of the holes in the engine case is larger than the
others
I have a Type 1 VW and it's connected to the Diehl case with two studs at the
bottom and two bolts at the top. One of the bolts has a tapered shank because
the case hole (top left) is larger. Two questions: 1. Why is the one mounting
hole larger? and 2. What are the correct fasteners all around?
Keith,
I'm selling a straight-sided boat. You can contact me at

Are any KR builders planning to attend the Watsonville airshow this weekend?
I'll be there Sunday morning. How about you, Steve Glover?
Also, Golden West will be June 10 and 11 -- let me know if you're planning to
attend.

Im researching fuel tanks (I plan to have only a header tank) and am currently
leaning toward using the RR prefab that I inherited.
Are there any issues I should be aware of in using the RR unit? I realized that
Langford, Jeff Scott, and others have built theirs from scratch, but I assume

I didnt have access to a KR2-S turtle deck, so I dont know if the answer is
to get the entire package and just shorten the end of the turtle deck. Has
anyone tried to make the new pre-molds work on an old boat?

I have some epoxy varnish left over from painting the inside of the fuse. Is it
OK to use it on the spars? They're closed, but I haven't begun to assemble the

Im working on the control system on a KR-2 taildragger project I purchased.
The plans (January 1990) state the tail wheel cable should be attached as far
forward on the rudder cable as possible before it enters the fuselage. Where
would this be? Seem I have to attach it BEFORE the last fairle
When you buy the complete turnbuckle assembly does it include the clevis pins?
The A/C Spruce catalog says barrel, fork, and end but doesnt show a picture
of an end.
If they arent included, which clevis pin and which cotter pin do I need for an
AN 150-16S assembly?

I checked the archives on this but couldnt get a definitive answer to the use
of Clorox on plywood.
I have 20 year old KR project that has some moisture damage to the boat (my

Recently Purchased a KR-2 Project
rick...@comcast.net
I recently acquired a KR-2 in the boat stage and am in the process of checking
all dimensions. The only discrepancy I've found so far is that both the top and
bottom of the forward bulkhead measure 34 1/4. The plans (page 15, drawing 8)
say that the top should be 34 1/4 and the bottom should be
