I have an old KR2 T/D that was written off by insurance companies due to a
tail wheel block was ripped out of the fuse. I was meant to fix it for the
owner, but found a damaged spar due to poorly fitted Jab maim gear. I could
not bring myself to scrap it. It’s now hanging from the roof in our
Thank you Larry and Jeff for a question well answered and elaborated deeply
and thoroughly! Your answers have made me feeling much better though of my
KR2 which is awaiting for a test pilot to take her off the ground
someday!
Kindly,
Dr. Hsu

Larry,
Sorry for the confusion on the BRS installer
Do you know if there was any design justification or reasons for the KR2's
inability of recovery from a spin? Was it because of the designer wanted to
make the bird a bit lighter by restricting the rudder/aileron control
surfaces a bit too s

Good to hear Larry that you are one of the few decided to put a BRS on the
KR2! Have you decided or ordered ur BRS and made preliminary design on how
to install the BRS? Also, how would it change the CG and useful load
parameters etc? Can you shade some lights for us whom wanted to do the
same?

Am I the only KR builder that is aware that the KR -2 is not to be
intentionally spun? When I built mine back in the 70s, from the yellow
cover KR plans, it was either stated in the plans, or in Butch Koppe's
KR Newsletter, that spins were not to be performed. Look at a Gruman

When testing my kr2 nose wheel. We did full weight straight stalls. With no
wing drop and some buffering Very nice.
Never wanted to spin it.
