The KR design was never really spin tested. One thing to remember is that no
two KRs are built the same. We all made our own modifications, changes and
"improvements" (which can be debatable). I did test my KR for recovery from an
incipient spin. I had no issues with recovery, but my plane was also flying
with the CG quite forward, but inside the recommended CG limits. I did NOT
allow a spin to fully develop. I only did a spin entry and 1/2 rotation before
performing a normal spin recovery. To me, it was a non-event. However, just
because my aircraft was capable and it was a "non-event" for me, does not mean
anyone else's KR is capable or that it won't be eventful. I don't recommend
spin testing as it is not necessary for a cross country machine like the KRs.
For example, I have not spin tested my RV. I know it is capable, but I don't
feel the need to prove it.
