forgotten about it.
A week after this KR crash those desert winter winds brought down a

Sam Bailey in Pratt, Kansas built three KR-1's and I think he used to do
an aerobatic routine in one of them.
I can imagine what a "high speed turning stall" is but I've never done
one so don't know what my KR would do . . . something predictible I would
think. It's not an unpredictable plane.
Just out of curiosity, where in the NW/Portland area? Many years ago I was
based at KTDO in WA. Great flying during the summer months.

I say, "most definitely". There will be times of quite gusty crosswinds when
you may wish you had MORE travel. Flight near stall is a different animal than
cruise flight. There is not nearly the air loads on the controls.

Pierre, I'm usually on the sidelines reading these posts, however on this one
I have first hand knowledge. The KR does great aileron rolls. I have also
paused for a few seconds inverted and there were no adverse flight habits. I
wouldn't fly extended inverted as the airfoil is not symetrical

You obviously didn't see my touch and goes last weekend at KLUD!

You may possible use full aileron in cross wind landings or take off. I
never have, but I can see that it could possibly be necessary.
I use full stick forward on landing once the wheels are planted, adjusted
for the amount of nose forward I need to keep the tail up. I keep the tail

Netters,
For you relatively new KR fans: Still on the web is Bill Reents's KR-1
along with his many adventures and pictures of his and many other KR-1
projects. The home page has a picture of his plane in inverted flight.

Hi everyone: I saw the videos of how little a KR pilot moves his control
stick to fly a kr. My question is, do you ever need to use the complete
travel length of the control stick? The elevator has a + - 30 degree
travel, do you use the complete 30 degree to land the KR?
Thank You Larry Elrod
McMinnville would be my first choice. Home of the Evergreen Air & Space Museum
and the Spruce Goose. They made a giant water slide out of a 747. Plenty of
things for the family to do while gathering to talk KR. Great flying weather.

Hi all,
I am virtually done with the KR build and I hope to have it painted and
testing during our summer months. My thoughts are already moving towards the
flying of the KR, now I was just wondering if anybody out there has ever
done aileron rolls or inverted flight with his/her KR? I know it i

Why not have the gathering at Triple Tree? It would be a chance to show off
the group support and a nice little airplane. It is something that I am
looking at for next year with the Quickie group. Nice part of Triple Tree
is a 7000' grass runway that is smoother then any asphalt runway I have
ever
I think we need to have a gathering in the North West. We have grass strips,
chances of thunder storms, rain, high humidity and wind. We don't have a lot of
Mosquitos, but you can bring your own. Seriously, give it some thought

I will most certainly not push the issue, but I've chatted with a KR builder
who sold his plane after just 10 hours. He stated that
Brian,
Thanks. Tripple Tree is where I will be next year. I would have hitched a
ride up there this year, if I were not going to the Gathering. The date is
decided by the host of the chosen site, and that is normally done a long
time after the Gathering, so you and I should be sure to let the
