Well, I have tried a knoppix CD on my own machine and have full "read"
access to my XP partition without a problem at all. Great recovery tools
this knoppix eh ;)

Yes, after booting from knoppix you can also access win2k partition. I tried
booting into knoppix and then saving my presentation onto hard disk which
was running win2k. So that concludes that knoppix can mount any NTFS
partition.
