seem to be possible right now with the current implementation. My question

I've created https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLEX-33263 for a simple
fix in mx:Datagrid where it can throw a RTE when the Datagrid loses focus.

Alex, couldn't we simply use AS4 and have multiple target platforms ?
Gordon, Adobe AS4 compiler won't be open sourced but would it be possible
to adapt Falcon to target the new VM?
Monocle could probably be the next profiler but currently is "limited" when
it comes to number of function calls, object tracking, object loitering
support, which is none for now but it offers a lot of amazing info
regarding what's going on.
We can even check how much time has been spent on Flex pa
Gordon,
I know a few that are still using the '2006' dialect but in my opinion I
would make it a low priority to handle it.

Om,
Falcon right now is an ActionScript compiler with limited MXML support, so
right now you can't simply change the old compiler by the new one.

Is this unrealistic ?
João Fernandes
Alex but couldn't we simply make "[VOTE]/[DISCUSS] - [MERGE]" mandatory
once we want to merge something to Develop branch?
João Fernandes
Jeff, that's why I think we should have for each distinct project a trunk /
branches /tags folder (thanks Carol for pointing out). So If we get Falcon
donated, it doesn't have to fit within the SDK and we don't need to worry
the fact it's incomplete and don't get

I think it should be better doing something like that instead of having
dependent projects otherwise we'll never be able to have "independent"
projects with their own pace of development.

So each project can have different releases. Right now there are probably a
few dependencies but probably we'll reach a point where some of those
projects can envolve at a different pace.
Something I would also like, if possible, is to create eventually an
"extensions" project for small libs that could be donated an be part of the
SDK but as optional lib.

Regarding whiteboards, I think they should be more visible so people can

No, workers can share all kind of objects including custom classes as long
you use registerClassAlias() inside your worker. There is a limitation
where you can't send Class types back and forward.

Jashraj,
the best way to become a contributor is to start contributing with code,
patches or documentation and attach them to a JIRA ticket. To become
committer you'll have to wait to be nominated and accepted by the PPMC and
usually that happens when someone contributes a lot :)

I've proposed in the past that the SDK could be broken into different
blocks like core (the actual SDK) and plugins for those who might need some
additional features.

some
repository (github or svn) elsewhere and announce in the mailinglist to see
if there are people interested in working in the same project.
I agree that eventually a list of "community whiteboards" could be listed
in the flex wiki page as long it doesn't become a burden to maintain.
João Fernandes
Clearly having multiple themes available is a case that could be defined as
flex-extras project instead of the flex-core.
João Fernandes
l some solution is found to output to another format

BTW Alex, is Adobe having someone to keep contributing to BlazeDS once
it's an Apache (sub-)Project?

proposed as a separated project to Apache.
Did Adobe already defined what are they willing to donate to Apache
Foundation from the BlazeDS stack?

I could live without signed RSLs and just use plain swf RSLs. Of course
there is a nice benefit having them on FP cache but is it a crucial
feature? Couldn't the SDK somehow be enhanced so we wouldn't even need it
anymore?

While I'm not an initial committer (so I can't vote), I'm looking

I have to agree with Roland, clearly DI will require good use of
interfaces to work, no? If start getting external dependencies properly
typed into interfaces is half work done to get basic DI working ,I'm not
counting all kind of crazy AOP that could be done on top of it.
