[Evolution] Message count - FC12 - Evolution 2.28.3

2010-09-21 Thread Steve T
Is there any plan for a fix for the message counts under FC12? To recap - The problem seems to be in the handling of search folders. I have a large number of search folders defined to categorise my mails, some of which overlap (ie a mail may appear in 2 or three search folders). Typically, I have

[Evolution] Migrating Evolution

2010-03-12 Thread Steve T
Is there a standard way to migrate Evolution between different OSes? I tend to use FC and have in the past simply copied the 'home' folders ( .evolution and .gconf from recollection) when I have moved up version of Fedora. Is that the 'correct'/'recommended' way - or is there some form of 'export'

Re: [Evolution] Backup contacts only

2009-11-20 Thread Steve T
Dianne, If you're running with Linux you may want to try rsync - it is a file copier that only copies changes. I tend to use it for all the evolution backups. I don't have a huge .evolution folder (2.7Gb) and it takes a few minutes to back it up (actually I back up my complete 'home' directory). Th

Patrick, Yep - these are the duplicates that I mentioned yesterday (I had two problems SMTP issue and VFolders - the SMTP issue came first so I tried to raiose that and the mails didn't go, then later after closing Evo and restarting it I got the duplicated VFolders - all in all a bad day). They ju

[Evolution] Duplicated Evolution Folders

2009-09-09 Thread Steve T
EVOLUTION 2.8.3 under FC6 I have been using Evolution for a few years with only a few minor problems - now I have an issue that I can't resolve. All the VFOLDERS that I have have suddenly been duplicated on the screen. The content of each 'duplicate' appears to be the same (so it looks like just

I tend to do that with the folder rules. EG set up a folder called WORK that is to track messages to/from somecompany.com. Then in the rules for that folder say that you want it to record messages where the recipient or sender contains somecompany.com. I tend to make the rule work on specific folde

In my version (2.8.3) its under Preferences - Mail Preferences - Junk Tab. Not too many options though (although for me, it's fine). I have a junk folder - the junk button then updates the spam filters and files the mail there. I can then un junk it etc. On Sun, 2008-04-20 at 11:23 +0100, Peter Sa

ingers crossed. Thanks for all your help and input. PS Presumably as your cache is being cleared after a week - you then got the option set to delete messages on the server after 7 days? That would then tie up with how I think it works. On Tue, 2008-04-08 at 10:57 -0430, Patrick O'Cal
