Milan,
Sorry about the delay. I wanted to try the issue under FC36, so  I now
have retried loading mail on  an external USB with FC36 and Evolution
3.44.3-1.fc36 and the problem is the same.
The debug from your suggestion (under the FC36/Evo 3.44.3 version)
shows lines along the lines of:

Action: Copy to default folder
2022-07-23 12:34:35 - Applied filter "Junk check" to message from
Health Insurance <i...@sprintmail.kmdal.com> - "Skip NHS waiting queues
with health insurance~@it~@~Ys a doddle"
Sender 'Health Insurance <i...@sprintmail.kmdal.com>' of message
'(null)' is not in any address book
Sender 'Health Insurance <i...@sprintmail.kmdal.com>' of message
'(null)' in book? 0
Junk filter classified message '(null)' as 'inconclusive'
Junk filter classification for message '(null)': inconclusive
Finish message '(null)' junk classify as not Junk
Message '(null)' is determined to be clean
Finished test of message uid:(null) subject:'Skip NHS waiting queues
with health insurance~@it~@~Ys a doddle' from 'Yahoo (Steve) :
inbox' as NOMATCH
Filter 'Junk check' did not match

The wordlist in the bogofilter worddb shows:

email.sprintmail.kmdal.com 32 0 20220702
from:sprintmail.kmdal.com 32 0 20220702
head:sprintmail.kmdal.com 32 0 20220702
rcvd:sprintmail.kmdal.com 22 0 20220614

It's no great shakes as I've added a filter to look for that sender
address and filter it into junk and that works fine, but from the
limited info I've given, does it look like a bogofilter issue rather
than Evolution?

@Andre Klapper - Andre, yes I know what I was/am using is old, but I
have certain software on my laptop that I have to test under a new
Fedora release before I can fully upgrade it, and I hadn't (haven't)
quite tested the new version yet!

Regards,
Steve T
