Is there a limit to the size of a IDE hard drive that Debian/Linux can
accomodate?
I.e. there are some pretty good deals now on 120GB IDE hard drives. I
just want to make sure I'm not buying something that I cannot use
'easily'.
Thanks

/var/lib/apt and also /var/cache/apt -- and now dpkg and apt are
broken, Can't reinstall them either. Any suggestions or humorous

Does the net install disk offer some sort of rescue option? Any ideas?

Not sure WHAT the limit is, but it's definately higher than anything
commercially available today.(speaking of that, Maxtor needs to get their
320 gig drives available

120Gb works perfectly fine. I think the limit would be by the IDE bus

I've looked a fair amount, and can't find a way to do the following.
I want to be able to press some sequence of keys, and have a program start
from that.
In windows, i have ctrl-alt-c mapped to start, or switch to, a command
prompt. I'd like a similar setup for xterm. I could hit ctrl-esc, and

I'm buying a new computer - upgrade option available to get 400w power supply
versus standard 300w. Benefits?

As long as your bios supports it i think you are ok with 120 Gigs, I am
sure you will get plenty of testimony off the list, though! I have
about 95 Gigs on 2 different drives right now.

Thanks for the tip! I had the prompt option in, but as usual I had forgotten
the /sbin/lilo -v, as usual. I guess I'll have to muck about on the fonts and
kde issues, as I have not yet recieved any info on them yet, or maybe it was
too off-topic fo
I have a directory called .icewm in my home directory and within that a
file called keys with some already set. I bet there is one in

I've got a buddy that wants to switch to using just a laptop for all
his needs, instead of the laptop/workstation combo he currently
uses. One thing he's decided he doesn't want to do without though is a
dual-headed setup when he's in the office. My initial thought was that
surely someone made a do

System specifications? Type of each power supply?
You could be getting a cheap junk 400w instead of a good 300w, for all we
know
