Hi
I'm trying to set up X so that I can switch to and from Greek keycodes
in Xfree 4.0.x. Xgrk worked earlier (3.3.x), but it doesn't work
propperly now and I would like to use something more integrated into
Gnome. Gnome has the GKB applet, but it doesn't work as when I switch t
OK. 3dlabs is now "glint". Groovy. Found this out by looking at
xfree.org. Cable modem is definitely a good thing. Still working
on the X server. Thank you collectively.

Pardon me. I just started using Debian yesterday. It is truly
wonderful. I have updated to the unstable Xfree package. It has no
video driver for my card. The old X used the 3DLabs driver.
I am reluctant to retreat to an older X package, partially because
I don't know how to do it without retreatin
If memory serves, 3DLabs support was incorporated into xserver-svga.

Hey,
This could mean a lot of different things, try sending us the *full* X
output, and your XF86Config-4 file.

Does anyone know how to configure a Diamond Speedstar Plus with an
Tseng ET4000 chipset on woody with X 4.0? I have tried all the
possible settings in xf86config that I can think of - with no
luck. The error from the end of /var/log/XFree86.0.log is included
at the end of this message.

XFree 4.0 has a new way to handle scalable fonts. Probably you did
something that got it working. I am having the same problem with
fonts also--still working on the solution. Apparently the new font
server does scalable/true-type fonts built-in--no need for a separate

Ok, I didn't find out how at all. If anyone can answer my questions below,
please do.
But! I ran xf86config, since xf86cfg just died repeatedly on me, and the
config file it generated was way better than the simple one from debconf, and
solved the problem! I'm at the same resolution, but
Hey people. I upgraded to XFree86 4.0.2, and now my desktop looks
horrible. The fonts are all bitmapped and grainy, and too large. I've crawled
through the settings, read up on fonts from the XFree86 site, and I can't see
anything wrong. Did anyone fight with this when they installed it?

After my upgrade to testing, I noticed that I'm still using
xserver-svga (3.3.6-31), so xinit start up saying:

Got it. Installing xbase-clients took care of it for me.

deb http://people.debian.org/~cpbotha/ xf402_potato/i386/
deb http://people.debian.org/~cpbotha/ xf402_potato/all/
to your apt sources.list (/etc/apt/sources.list)

Hello there!
I'm looking for deb packages of XFree 4.0.2, and it doesn't
seem to be under the testing tree, neither under the unstable one.
Does anyone know if there is a package for it, and where I
could get it?

Just upgraded from potato to woody, with X upgrade to 4.0 included, and
now my MS Natural keyboard not working correctly.
I've set "XkbModel" as "microsoft" in XF86Config-4, but /var/log/XFree86
tells me "Couldn't load XKB keymap, falling back to pre-XKB keymap"
Thanks for your help!
