Generally it's a bug in VirtualBox for not providing some sane
graphics interface.
You can get a sane resolution by decreasing the amount of video memory
for the virtual machine.
You can also use the vesa framebuffer, set the resolution with video=

The initramfs scripts cause Linux to read quite a few sectors from disk

For filesystems mountd by binaries linked with glinc including the NSS
modules and a resolv.conf should suffice to make this work.

When setting LH_LINUX_PACKAGES=linux-image-2.6.35-um and
LH_LINUX_FLAVOURS=amd64+ the kernel live-helper attempts to install is
linux-image-2.6.35-um-amd64
This makes building with git kernel impossible.

First I tried break=init or init=bin/sh.
At both points the system still appears functional but initscripts fail

Unlike apt debootstrap does not print mirror it is downloading from.

On netbooted system ipconfig is used to obtain an IP address.
Since dhclient is broken and running it on netbooted box kills the box
it is not started.
This means there is no resolv.conf created on the live system.
