Thanks.
I found the .config for my stock kernel also in the kernel-headers-2.4.18 dir.
OK, now I have a working kernel. But pcmcia-cs is still lacking. Thus, I
installed pcmcia-source. This gives me a tarball pcmcia-cs.tar.gz in /usr/src.

Thank you! 'chipset VESA' works beautifully.
Though not without a little effort. 'vgatest' first complained that
src/driver.h/MAX_REGS was not large enough, so I installed the source
package, and recompiled with the recommended value. After that vgatest
ran, but was corrupting my console's font.

Hi,
I'm having a rough time getting svgalib to work. The utilities
distributed with the library all hang my machine (ARM Computer Inc.
laptop, model N38W3), as does a tiny test app to retrieve the current
chipset. I have to reboot the machine after every attempt at running

Thanks, but I've tried it with quite a few different resolutions.
Right now I'm testing at 1024x768.

I've sent the following message to a couple of the XFree86

Because LILO accept only 0x format at the prompt. If you enter the hex value
