I've connected my midship drains to the aft drains and then to a much larger
thru hull at the stern above the waterline. They are connected with increasing
hose sizes. I described this in a recent blog post. The system works great.
I couldn't remove the old hose in back of the ice box.

Rob, you are absolutely correct...slightly worse in the winter because no one

FWIW, I remember a creative arrangement for deck drains on a cruising boat that
passed through Washington some time ago. I always thought that when I get
around to making deck drains for my 38 I would follow the pattern.
The arrangement requires that you have access to the area under the deck

Are any listers planning to go to Defender's warehouse sale this weekend? Is it
worth going? I'll be in New Haven's area this weekend and trying to decide if I
should drop by...

Aaron,
I’ve heard nothing but great things about going to the sale. It’s a little too
far of a trek :-) for me, but I ALWAYS take advantage of their great deals
online when the sale comes around. I have my shopping list ready….
All the best,

Aaron,
All the best deals will be sold out to those who are probably already
standing in line, but I would be like a kid in a candy shop!

It is quite the three ring circus. Lots of participation by
manufacturers. Prices are great, and they also have a room of
discontinued and shop worn stuff that holds some treasures. You'll see
things such as brand new 22 pound Delta anchors for $50 because the
finish is no longer bright. If you
After replacing float switches more than once, I switched to the Water Witch.
It gets the water lower in the bilge, and it comes with a five year warranty.

Yea it's crazy! Like a really condensed Boat Show. Very Very Busy, great
deals, and they'll even ship for you to avoid the tax...uh I mean for the
convenience of not having to haul the stuff back home yourself... It's
definitely worth the trip in my opinion. Danny

Aaron,
The sale is 10% off everything in the Defender catalogue and that is the
same whether you order online or buy at the warehouse and take it with you.
The warehouse is less than 60 minutes from New Haven and IMO it is worth
making the trip if you can. Eliminating the $ for shipping, espec
I've been using the Water Witch for several years -- the bilge on the 34+

sit too high IMHO. I can't get all the way to the bottom with the Water

Seems like a must! I'll definitely drop by. Thanks as always!

I've been there a few times. Great store. Great people and great deals. The
sale is a great way to see everything and touch it and try it on. They usually
have bins of clearance stuff and sale items not listed online. Just remember if
you order online you save paying the tax which is usually fiv
