After replacing float switches more than once, I switched to the Water Witch.
It gets the water lower in the bilge, and it comes with a five year warranty.

Just to be clear.

The Water Witch switch
https://www.waterwitchinc.com/new/SiteElements/Pages/SecondaryPages/Products/BilgeSwitches.html
is 100% solid state with no floats or any moving parts. It doesn't cycle
needlessly either, It just has one or 2 "sensor" plates (depending on the
model) that probably measures + voltage to ground difference / conductivity.

Long story short: It knows when the bilge water level is above the threshold,
even with some oil (Transmission leak, another story) and other crud it has
never miss-fired or failed.

So far, fool proof and used by both Canadian and US coast guards if that means
anything..
