We had one that raced around here a dozen years ago. It was named “Fast”. It
wasn’t… Cool looking long hull with a somewhat stubby mast. The interior was
like the inside of a refrigerator, all white gelcoat. The gelcoat on the
outside was stress cracked everywhere.

I don't know. I went aboard the one at the Annapolis boat show in October
wanting to fall in love with it and came away disappointed. It was very
nice down below, but the compromises they made to get the cabin
accommodations and still have a big open cockpit just make the thing look

our 99 year old Belle of Louisville and some barge from Cincinnati Ohio...as
per most boat races, its another excuse to party.. we also have a little horse
race coming up Saturday called the Kentucky Derby... another

The best no stress races will be similar to Seattle Yacht Club's Cruiser -
Racer class (next one May 11th then June 1st) or the summer Elliott Bay series.
The SYC C/R class includes a "no flying sails" and other cruiser orientated
PHRF rating credits. I can put you in touch with the PHRF

Just got back from my first sail of the season. Still a little cool, but

just emailed me that it is snowing heavy and he expects about 9 inches

difficulty repainting their cove stripe, which on Ox is engraved and has
uneven edges?
The first attempt I assigned to my son, hoping he'd become more detail
oriented. For the second attempt I used a 1/4"(?) roll of painters tape

The Trimarans are amazing machines. If I had money, I'd prefer to own a Figaro
II for single handing.
They race them is tight triangle races, in Europe, singlehanded w full
spinnakers. They also push them hard in 35 to 40 knot winds and seas offshore,
but not much interior.

The first time I painted my boat I taped off the cove stripe right where the
indent meets the hull, it ended up too wide and looked funny.
After painting this time I still havent done the cove stripe but Im
leaning toward ½ tape stripe.

After Touché was reprinted in 2010, I replaced the cove stripe with 3M
automotive tape.
Prior to painting, I removed the old stripe with a 3M Stripe Off wheel. It had
ragged edges but came off easily with the wheel.

I painted my cove stripe. Taped it off with the green 3M stuff and painted with the same Brightside? That I did the boot top with. I think it might be easier than trying to fit tape into that concave slot.Well! I've been trying to use "Concave " in a sentence for months - glad that's sorted!
