I used 1/2" white 3M striping tape.
Nice crisp line, not going to last forever, but it's been on there about
3 years and still looks good.

Paul.

They are hard to get right.
The first time I painted my boat I taped off the cove stripe right
where the indent meets the hull, it ended up too wide and looked funny.
After painting this time I still haven't done the cove stripe but I'm
leaning toward ½" tape stripe.

*Subject:* Stus-List Cove Stripe Painting
Speaking of boot stripes but a couple of feet higher, has anyone had
difficulty repainting their cove stripe, which on Ox is engraved and
has uneven edges?
The first attempt I assigned to my son, hoping he'd become more detail
oriented. For the second attempt I used a 1/4"(?) roll of painters
tape that I circumscribed with a razor into two 1/8" rolls and tried
it myself.
It was difficult to tape a straight edge because it encompassed three
dimensions. I eventually settled on a compromise that is now
unpleasant to the eye.
