The 'C&C smile' is quite common. Mine had one when I bought the
boat. First place to start with that is torque the keel bolts to
their specs. I then sanded the smile to approx 3 inches above and
below it and wrapped the smile in West System epoxy soaked cloth.

This is literally a 10 minute job if you don’t count the time to go buy the
sockets. Don’t stress over it. One thing you do need to check is the backing
plates. Mine were steel and well on their way to dissolving, so I got them
remade in stainless and lived happily ever after.

Don't think I would get too worried about that unless you have water
ingress around any of the keel bolts, if not just tighten the nuts to spec
then clean around the crack surfaces (maybe with an angle grinder) fill the
smile using epoxy and glass matte and fair

When I purchased my boat in 2011 there was a small smile. They cleaned it
out, filled it and wrapped in with glass cloth and resin. Total for the
