Subject: Stus-List Landfall 38 3QM cooling system woes
Hello, all — I’ve got a 1979 LF38 with the original Yanmar 3QM
I too cant add much to the conversation but agree with Marek. A lobster boat
captain gave me the same tip and it sure seems to work. Also, being a single
handler, I found that when going into a slip, if someone can catch and hold
my bow, sure made things easier especially with a cross wind.
Ed,
local boat mechanic recommended and I have 4 Exide Orbital AGM's on a house
bank wired in series and additional one for the engine. Have had for almost 3
years and no problems. Hope that helps.

Dennis,
Enjoyed your humor, although I am sure there was nothing funny in your mind

of drag. During the night there was a slight wind change, no drag but Finesse

Hello Listers,
While on the hard want to check the nuts on the keel bolts and understand 250

leverage deep in the bilge. Anyone ever used a small jack and maybe also with

Have enjoyed these posts. I too on occasion sail with just the jib. I did not
see it mentioned, but I understand there is a term for sailing only the jib and
it is sometime referred to as "Brazilian" sailing.

Tom,
Going through the same thing on my 85 LF 39. Have discovered the best
replacement is 3/8" polybicarbonate tinted to a bronze color. Smoked grey is
another option. The problem is that anything tinted and 3/8" thick is hard to
find and most suppliers require you buy a whole sheet. Not su

thanks for your post. I bought a 1985 LF 39 from the estate of Doug James,
Erie, PA, the original owner, 2 years ago. From his notes and paperwork left
on board, it appears that he paid approximately $120,920. He was also a C&C

Hello Edd,
May of 2011, here along the Texas Gulf Coast I too had Finesse , a LF39,
soda blasted and on the recommendation of the boat yard:
1. Used the Interlux primer-cleaner
2. Applied 2 full coats of the 2000E and a 3rd coat over the keel and up the
hull about 1/2 way using a rolle
