the mixer for sb live was always confusing but it used to sort
of work, the latest changes make it even more confusing and, as
far as I can tell, less functional. I hope I am mistaken and I
would appreciate any info on what's going on.

No, it is an selfcompiled 2.4.19 with patches 2.4.20-pre10 and

I need to use the ac-pathces, because ma hdd is attached to the hpt372

Did anyone see any problems with 0.9.0rc3 on Red Hat 8.0?
I have a problem that seems to be very difficult to debug. In a
nutshell, some video files play just fine on a PIII/600 running Red Hat
7.2 and ALSA, but i have problems playing them on an AthlonXP/1800
running Red Hat 8.0

If you have up2dated yor kernel or installed a kernel rpm you will have problems that we get back to.
Else recompile the alsa and do this.
Completely remove old modules in this directory bytypingrm -rf /lib/modules/(your kernel version)/misc> Compile the driver with these options.> --with-kernel=
Have you up2dated or installed an rpm kernel lately?

Hi there!
If I switch on the IEC958 Output in alsamixer for my on-board cmipci
soundchip (on a SOYO Dragon Ultra, via KT333) the output seems to switch
on, my external DAC gets a link.
But after starting mplayer with mplayer -ao oss:/dev/dsp2 (it's the 3rd
soundcard) the System freezes within 1 se
I think I just made a little blooper... *blush*
Somehow I missed the "details" page on the ALSA site, where it says that
midi and the aux2 input on the livedrive isn't supported fully yet. Sigh!
Oh well, I've been thinking of buying a M-audio Delta 66, which seems to
be quite well supported by

Hi,
I have Debian SID (unstable) booted from LoadLin with modular ALSA,
and a ymfpci (ymf740) sound. My kernel is 2.2.20. Back in my stable
days, I had ALSA working, but sporadically. Often, my KDE would error
out, generating a SIGSEV fault. The games would sometimes play the

Hi.
I have to use a RME Digi96/8 PTS. Right now I can use device 0, but when I
try to use device 1 (Digi96 ADAT) i got the following error:
# aplay -D hw:0,1 dlg1.wav
Playing WAVE 'dlg1.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz,
Stereo
aplay: set_params:791: Channels count non available
Does anyone knows how to share audiochannels in multichannel cards such as RME
Hammerfall, Midiman Delta 410 and others? I need to know, how 2 alsaplayers can
SIMULTANEOUSLY use different channels on the same soundcard. Maybe i must use slave
plugin "share", but i don't know how...

I'm sure this these questions come up quite often, but since they aren't
in any FAQ or don't have (IMHO) any good answers I'll ask them again:
I have a SBLive! with a LiveDriveII. I want to be able to use a sequencer
program to control a synth connected to the midi i/o ports, and more
important
