You need 500 lux to splice. Hard to get that with 12 volt lights. Your splicer and otdr will run down in the middle of a splice and you will want a generator. You will have night work and you will need some higher intensity lights outside to see inside the handhole etc. Unless you plan to have a

I would think that a 1000 watt load would pretty much kill a 12V inverter (~~ 83 amps), and would also be significant for a 24V inverter (~~ 42 amps).  It's not until you get into bigger voltages that the power cables start to look reasonable. bp On
