I like to use heat guns to shrink tube. Those take 1000 watts. How big is the inverter?

I've got the worst vision and can easily see the strands. I should probably specify...we have an inverter for 110vac coming off that battery. Works for phones, splicer, otdr, etc. Battery charges off the truck with the extra pin on the trailer hook up. Take off the trailer plug and drop the trailer and the truck can go freely. Limited to a handful of hours off the battery. All the work is in town right now so there are street lights, but we have a Dewalt battery powered light stand that does very well (mostly used for tenting). I pushed for a generator but the guy doing the work said to take it back *shrug* Josh Luthman Office: 937-552-2340 Direct: 937-552-2343 1100 Wayne St Suite 1337 Troy, OH 45373 On Tue, Jul 14, 2020 at 12:18 PM <ch...@wbmfg.com> wrote: You need 500 lux to splice. Hard to get that with 12 volt lights. Your splicer and otdr will run down in the middle of a splice and you will want a generator. You will have night work and you will need some higher intensity lights outside to see inside the handhole etc. Unless you plan to have a vehicle running to power your 12 volt system you will want a generator. Sometimes you have to drop the trailer and drive to get someone while someone stays behind splicing etc etc etc... The techs resisted and ultimately we ended up without a generator. The lights were easier on 12vdc. Propane works so well for heat. AC is at a loss. Why do you say we'll eventually want a generator? We use propane for heat and haven't really figured out the air conditioning. The whole side opens up like a food truck, though. Ohio treats us OK. Have you considered making it double walled with some sort of anti-vibration material or suspension between the inner and outer layers?
