I had it previously on an ICP-Vortex controller, and it was real blessing.
But there are another curiosities as well - I see

When you say "compressalways yes" the client will keep

After the backup of our database, we backup the device config and volhist
files from TSM to the text files, then we perform a maksysb on our AIX
server. That backup tape (4mm) goes offsite with the TSM tapes (LTO).

I just went through this with a Solaris box. Some of the guys here sent me
info to help me out. Now it works great.

It pays to perform the test and actually wipe out the c drive of one of the
nodes.
In testing we performed a C drive backup and a system state backup.

Will exporting a node from AIX allow me to import the node on a Sun TSM
server? I know that I cannot backup my database and restore it
cross-platform, but how about import/export operations?

The client thinks you have space management turned on. If you do, you
probably have to have the space management installed or it could be a
permissions problem. Check your install.

the storage pools , but that may be because I did not have the device
classes named the same. I also did not get the scripts. But all other
definitions came across.

I have had something similar, if not identical. You
may not believe this but check the free disk space
on the client, it may be low and therefore can't create
virtual device.
