Hi,
We currently have two 60 GB ADSM databases on IBM H50s with 1GB of
memory each. We have to
add more memory on the systems due to performance issues. Our database will
keep growing
and will probably be at 80GB within the next 3 to 6 months. The amount of
memory to purchase
is still up i

Pat,

We had several occurances over many months that required bouncing the server
because a non-existant transaction had a high numbered log page locked.
This occurred after a problem with our ACSLS systems or a tape drive; but
not after every problem. You have the problem when the percent utilization

That's what we've been discussing. There is no need to recycle the TSM
server on a regular basis. If yo
I am not so much concerned about rebooting the physical server but more so
cycling the ADSM/TSM server processes i.e. halting the server and then
bringing it up again.
Any thoughts on that?

This may be theoretically true, but things do crop up. At 3.7.2, I had
problems with defunct processes, growing until around 1000 or so, the
system had slowed down to the point I needed to restart. This stopped
at 3.7.3.8 (the next level I put on). I believe the below statement
generally, but y

We have never seen any issues with long running ADSM servers
(note we're further down level than you are!):
