Agreed, but I'm sure you've had to do some explaining in the
past for purchases and it's not always that simple. I have all the
data I need to ask for more memory. What I would like is responses
from others who have large databases and this may or may not help me
to get more than 1 GB of additional memory.

Marco - The basic rule for servers is to buy as much memory as you can
afford and your system will support. 1 GB isn't a lot more than
many
people buy for just workstations these days, and servers need substantial
amounts to assure caching. And you are talking a very big database.
