Re: Problem pasting LaTeX Code into a LyX equation
Roger A. Wehage schrieb: A related question. I now insert a properly formatted LaTeX display equation into a Raw TeX Code field, along with an associated Label when needed. The equation number will display correctly, but when I go to insert a Cross Reference to that label, it doesn't appear in LyX's list of labels. Yes, because ERT (TeX Code) stuff is not parsed by LyX. I propose to insert you LaTeX code to a LyX formula. In case the import is incorrect, fix it so that the formula is properly in LyX. Then you can use labels without problems. Fixing the non-imported LaTeX stuff does usually not need much time. Attached is your code that I took and copied into an empty LyX formula. You can see that there is not much to fix. The Code from MathType is problematic because it is uses a lot of unneeded braces which prevent the correct import. regards Uwe newfile1.lyx Description: application/lyx

For most writers such feature is more a bug that a helpful feature. Those annoying red underlines may break your way of thinking during writing, the same is about autocorrection. Re: Spell check on the fly?
Is there any chance that LyX in the future will support spell check on fly, where each misspelled word is underlined with a red line in the editor if its incorrectly spelled? I concur that inline spellchecking is not helpful during writing. Have a look at the User's Guide as well, which explains that LyX simply implements an external program to do the spellchecking. It may happen in the future that LyX will support a program that provides inline spellchecking, but for now it's Aspell for Windows users (and probably most everyone else). Looking at the Aspell documentation (http://aspell.net/), there is no mention of a desire for inline spellchecking, so if you want that you might want to look at another program and work on implementing support for it in LyX. endnotes
I can't seem to find the answer to this. I know how to convert footnotes to endnotes and how to place endnotes in a document. I want all the endnotes to appear at the end of the book, but I need to have them divided by chapter. I mean, as you read through the endnotes you should come to a break with a title like: "Notes to Chapter X" (then the notes should start numbering from 1 again). While I'm dreaming, it would also be nice to have the headers change so that on each page of the endnotes the header reads "Notes to Ch. X, pp. Y - Z" Can anything like this be done in Lyx? Bib questions
How can I change the citations from W.Engelmann to Engelmann, W. in the bibliography? I am using Koma book and natbib author-year, abbrvnat as the style. Furthermore, how is the citation style changed from Engelmann, W and Mayer, A. to Engelmann, W und Mayer, A. (it is a German book) Wolfgang
index
in my index the page numbers of some of the same entrances are not shown behind each other. They belong to cases where emphasis is desired, e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED] on page 33 and [EMAIL PROTECTED] on page 42 leads to Lolium, 42 Lolium, 33 instead of Lolium, 33,42 I have also exported the tex file from the Lyx file and run latex several times with the hope, that the index file will be correct in this way, but in vain. Strangely, there are other plant names which occur twice on different pages and they are displayed correctly. In these cases the earlier pages are displayed first, as they should (and not Lolium, 42 Lolium, 33 as in the given example. Has somebody an idea whats going wrong? Wolfgang

Well, what I mean is that most of the bibtex styles are written for English text. So they will format entries according to the English spelling. In order to change this - i.e. to localize Your bibtex style - one must edit the .bst file and change all English abbreviations etc. (and - of course - use this style in the document, too :) ). bibtopic with jurabib, only authors lastname in smallcaps
hallo world, i want to split up my bibliography into sources and scientific books. I followed the commands in the wiki: Layout→Document→Bibliography and select Sectionated bibliography, than i insert the bibliographies and now my document is almost dead, about 20 errors, misplaced alignments tabs (like les Princes estrangers} \bibatsep\ \apyformat {Paris\bibbdsep {} 1632}}, the title is not even cited in the text and i chose only to list entries cited in the text), etc. I'm working on os X.5. I'm using this preamble \jurabibsetup{ authorformat=smallcaps,% titleformat=italic,% titleformat=colonsep,% citefull=first,% lookat,% dotafter=bibentry,% biblikecite=true } \AddTo\bibsAll{ \renewcommand*{\biblnfont}{\textsc} \renewcommand*{\bibfnfont}{} \renewcommand*{\bibbdsep}{} } Is there somebody who can help me out there? I'm lost! and by the way: Is there a mean to set only the last name of the author in smallcaps instead of the whole name?
