What about Canada and Mexico and others that need split phase? I have never thought of using anything but Outback or Schneider because they have been building equipment for this hemisphere for decades :) And everywhere else also! It is simply a corporate decision on how much work would need to be done to completely redesign a very good product and make sure it meets the same performance and reliability standards as the original. Is that cost likely to be re-couped in a reasonable amount of time, based on an estimate of increased sales. And again, that is just the -US model, the MOW model is two generations ahead already, with no need for unbalanced output in a single unit. It would be my unit of choice for many application that I have gone with other brands. The price of a pair of SIs is often just not competitive. However, with all the work on Sunny Boy Storage and Sunny Central Storage (and even a Tripower storage), resources to develop and test a split phase Sunny Island are not available. There is active work on updating the communications to support SMAĆ¢EUR(tm)s Ethernet based communications. Still, this may be months out. With the Smartformer being discontinued, the MidNite MNX-240 is the recommended part to create 240 split phase from one Sunny Island.
