I am glad this weight topic came up again. Weight has been a big factor in my bicycle enjoyment - so have high volume tires, bars up at seat height, and fenders. I am fortunate enough to have a few bikes that land in different places on the weight and intended use spectrum. I commute by bicycle and don't own a car. A typical bike ride for me involves at least four flights of stairs and steep hills. I will concede that weight is less noticeable when riding on a bike, but I feel that only considering time on a bicycle creates a incomplete view of my experience. I don't weigh my bikes, the numbers aren't that important to me, what matters is that there is occasional talk of the reasons why a lighter bicycle might be preferred.
