In my opinion, anybody who wants to buy a sub $2000 steel frameset that allows them to get their handlebars LOW can find one. If they love their handlebars LOW, then Rivendell Bicycle Works is probably not their best first choice. LOW handlebar road bikes are not that difficult to find in the marketplace. If there is somebody who is fiercely loyal to Rivendell and refuse to buy a bike anywhere else, and are equally intent on slamming that stem, then they are going to have to make a choice.
