Well, I was remembering some Jack Taylor Tourists I was taken with in the 1970s. These bikes had obviously seen hard use, and were in touring kit. The hammered Lefol fenders weren't shiny like Honjos, but rather had a weather-beaten dull satin finish. They looked utterly fantastic, as though they'd just been around the world. Grizzled veterans.
