I have Esge/SKS fenders on my bikes.*  Here in Minnesota it gets  
pretty cold, although I basically don't ride below 30 degrees.   
Masochistic pleasure is not my cup of tea.  Anyway, I have had two  
old-style Zefal black plastic fenders break in the cold, but the Esge/ 
SKS have never shown any tendency to this.


*The Honjos are hanging up in the basement waiting for me to get  
around to build a frame for a randonneur bike.
