Mike, I don't think anyone who reads these posts will be dissuaded from their allegiance to Rivendell. If fact, it was a great tale and we all learned that karmic forces are uncannily reliable. We also were reminded, despite the aggrandizement of our steel bikes, that "parts is parts" and that stuff breaks.

As pointed out, this stuff just happens. I feel a sense of friendship and community with the people of this group. The thing is that I was impressed with the fix, the shifting and most of all the assistance of a stranger and just felt like sharing the story and images with the community. And as I also mentioned Rivendell's (Grant's) prompt response to assist with it. I guess there are people who may see the images and come away thinking Rivendell's are undependable but what can you do? Perhaps these are the people who are always focusing on whether the glass is half empty or half full. I guess, in this case, I'd say there is a glass with some refreshing beverage in it. Of course there are those who will see a glass of poison. I'm very much looking forward to getting back on this bike again at some point in the future. It's been very very good to me.
