If you love that steel bike, repair it. The memories and stories are worth it alone. I'll always regret not knowing that I could safely repair my first, long lost, 531db frame when the left fork finally cracked through just below the crown. Nowadays there seem to be more options available, and you can take the opportunity to customize; extra braze-on bits if you have the desire.
