Based on the little bit I've seen and read about it, it seems to me that's the 
direction Apple is headed with Lion, too.

Let's face it, Ed, that 'Metro' stuff is for small touchscreens - i.e., smart 
phones and xpads.  Can you see an insurance company with a roomful of clerks 
entering data on a 'virtual keyboard'?

Seems to me that MS' goal is to cover both the desktop and portable markets 
with a single OS.  If they succeed, it will be a good idea.
