Good day all,
I don't know if this question can me asked on this mailing list; if not,
can someone gently direct me?
I got a running mail system based on postfix and dovecot for more than 5
years now and would like to implement a ticket system so that incoming
mails are attributed a ticket number for the help desk support to be use.
Thank you in advance.

I use Redmine for personal projects and also on a few systems where I work. We
like it due to the option to authenticate against AD/LDAP, built in wiki
support, etc. I recommend you give it a try along with the other options that
have been mentioned here. One installation currently scrapes against Dovecot
via IMAPS on my personal VPS and another against Exchange 2013.
