Just got back to revisit this issue and I just noticed that Sun has released Software Release 3.0 for the X4240 series machines, with a couple of interesting "fixes" per the "Product Notes" PDF:
* LSI MPT Firmware 1.27.02, MPTBIOS: 6.26.00 * LSI SAS Expander Firmware: 5.02.04 * Intel SSD Firmware: 845C8626 Sounds like it could include a bugfix or two. Now if I only could _actually_ find the SAS Expander firmware and Intel SSD firmware parts on any of the downloadable ISO files... (The LSI MPT Firmware and MPTBIOS was easy to find). I thought I had found atleast the SAS Expander firmware in the SIA ISOs, but when it booted after a long time it just said I already had the latest firmware, which it claimed was 5.02.01 - doh! - and no mention of any Intel SSD firmware...
