Oh, another little benchmark information regarding that "test": Doing that "gtar zxf emacs-22.3.tar.gz" very-scientific benchmark over NFS from one X4240 to another and onto a ZFS filesystem consisting of two mirrored (by ZFS) 146GB 10krpm SAS disks (on the Adaptec RAID controller with 256MB battery backed cache) takes about 1:40 (minutes). Not blazingly fast exactly...
If I add that X25-E SSD as a log device to that Zpool the same operation takes... 7 seconds. That's acceptable :-) But I would like to use the LSI HBA instead.
