Of course. It's a bit impossible to configure the X4240 otherwise since all the disk slots in the front is connected to one big LSISASx28 expander chip on the disk backplane, which then is connected to one SAS HBA adapter using one (well, two actually, but that's just for redundancy it seems - it makes no difference if I connect one or both of the cables) 4x SAS cable.
